Hehe! I really liked this! Even though I don’t know much about the Lemony Snickey series, I watched the movie, of which I think I would have liked if Jim Carrie wasn’t in it, because I really liked the child actors which is uncommon for me.

You should read the books. The movie really isn’t worth watching, which is why I haven’t seen it. The books are incredible. =D

  3. I haven’t read the books, don’t have any desire to. I don’t really know who Lemony Snicket is, and this movie basically confused me beyond belief.

You should have a desire to. They’re really great books, and since you don’t like classics, you should like these. =P They are incredible books. Top notch. Five stars.

I like classics, so does that mean I won’t like these? :P

I’m not much of a pleasure reader. I think reading for information is more fun for some reason. Otherwise, I would set aside some time to read it, cause I would trust *your* opinion on books. *murmurs about university’s choice on literature*

Even if you like classics, you will like these books. Lemony Snicket is, in the lingo of the series, and “exceptionally well-read person”, and so makes reference to many classic, and often obscure, works.

And if you like to read for information because you like to stimulate your mind, then you will definitely enjoy these books, because they keep you puzzling throughout.

    Masterpieces, all of them. Truly.

And Stephanie, you should just get over it and read them first, and then tell us how little you desire to read them. And whatever you do, don’t watch the movie first. Or better yet, don’t watch it at all. It will ruin the reading of a perfectly good story.

It seemed like a perfectly good story when I watched the movie, it’s just I’m vehemently against Jim Carrie and all the works I’ve seen him in. He plays the same character all the time, and overacts. This acting style makes him boring and predicatable to me, therefore I do not like him. I would tell someone not to watch the movie simple because I do not like Jim Carrie, but not because a good skeleton of a story is not present because is a very good story in there.

I wouldn’t say I like to stimulate my mind, rather I find taking information that’s useful fun. I don’t have to take a test on it, I don’t have to study it, it’s just information that I’m reading. I find that satisfying. Plus, I usually read journals of some sort which are short. How-to books are fun too. I would definitely recommend “How To Read A Book” by Mortimer Adler. I think there are several revised versions now with different authors, but the one I’m reading has the author Charles Van Doren, and he writes very similarly to Ian, so it’s a rather enjoyable read on how to read. ^_^

Okay. I get it now. This is a song from The Gothic Archies album, “The Tragic Treasury,” inspired by A Series of Unfortunate Events. I thought about getting the album a while back, but didn’t like it well enough to go to the trouble. It was a little too strange.

But this is funny. And I would love to read “The Beatrice Letters”…
