These sorts of pages always baffle me.  I never quite know what I should write here, of how I should describe myself.  If this were the back of a book, no doubt someone else would write about who I am, what I do, where I live, and with whom I live in a matter of three or four sentences.  But this is a blog, and not a book, so I doubt I can stick to that style.

In any case, I was born in the spring of 1992, and at the time I write this (05/07/10), I am 18.  I am male, though I imagine you already knew that, but in case you were confused, I thought I would throw that out there.  Several years back, I became a Christian and trusted my life to God and His Will.  Often times, Christians attempt to makes themselves appear perfect, without stains or flaws.  But people are flawed.  People have problems, and Christians are no different.  We make mistakes, we aren’t perfect.  I will hide behind no such facade of perfection; accept me in spite of my inadequacies, because they will never fully disappear.  Thank you.

Currently, I am attending Fairmont State University and I plan on majoring in English Education, and minoring in Art, Graphics, or something of that nature.  I hope to teach at the university level and become a professional artist.

As of today, I am obsessed with music, both listening and composing.  I am working on an acoustic pop project called My Dearest Dahlia, which can be found on Purevolume and MySpace (at myspace.com/mydearestdahlia).  I play guitar, a bit of xylophone,  and I’m teaching myself piano and drums.  I don’t claim to have mastered any of these, but I’m most proficient with the guitar.  In the future, I plan to start a darkwave band and a punk band, but neither of these projects have been launched at this time.

I tend to write about a variety of things: music, art, spirituality, life, film, among others.  In my spare time, I alway make videos.  I would dream of calling myself a “filmmaker” at this time, as many kids with video cameras tend to do.  To call myself “professional” in such a position, I think, would be arrogance, as I’m no where near professional, as I lack training, education, and means.  In essence, the videos I film are, more or less, hobbies.  Practice, perhaps.  Within the next couple years, I would like to begin making films worthy of being recognized.

I am a fan of constructive criticism, so don’t be afraid to critique me.  I won’t get mad at you, because being mad online is just ridiculous anyway.

Thanks for visiting my blog; you are amazing.
Sincerely,
- Ian

Hello there Ian, I have a few questions (not all of them necessarily about you) and such, but I’ll just email you. Just a forewarning.

    That’s all. *nods*

If you ever start dressing like a lumberjack, I will consider it my personal duty to drive out there and bang some sense into you. And yes, that sounds violent, and it probably would be a sordid ordeal.

Anyhow, you may not have an accent. But you speak differently then most I know, in a lovely sort of way.
